CLASS AVAILABILITY

Cost: For one year (2010-2011) of language instruction (30 classes) is only $400 including a $30 non-refundable registration fee.
There will be a late registration charge of $20 for registration received after 8/15/2010.
PRE-K CLASSES
PCCS also offer MANDARIN PINYIN or CANTONESE PRE-K CLASSES!
MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT: 3.5* years old by Oct 1, 2009
Cost for PRE-K Classes is ONLY $240 per school year!
Pre-K classes meets for ~1 hour from 9:00AM to 9:55AM or 10:00AM to 10:55AM

CLASS DETAILS
'09 - '10 Class Dates: Saturdays from September 12, 2009 thru June 5, 2010.
Class Time: 09:00 AM - 11:00 AM for Introductory and up Language Classes (with 10 minute break)
PCCS offers Mandarin Zhuyin and Mandarin Pinyin as well as Cantonese Classes
Using Traditional Chinese Writing Characters.
Simplified Chinese Characters will be introduced starting at Level 4.
NOTE: Additional Classes will be opened if there are sufficient enrollment for that class.
MISSION
Our mission is to provide an open learning environment for our children to learn Traditional Chinese writing characters while becoming proficient in reading, writing, and speaking Chinese. This is offered in a choice Mandarin and Cantonese dialect and supplemented with Simplified Chinese characters.
Pleasanton Community Chinese School is a volunteer, not-for-profit organization incorporated in May 2004. We are working on applying for non-profit status.
Classes are conducted in 100% Chinese with English spoken only when the children have difficulties in understand instructions. The only exception will be 'Pinyin' Kindergarten which will be conducted in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
If there is sufficient interest expressed by our non-Chinese speaking community, we will also offering special classes to teach adults conversational Chinese as well as learning Traditional Chinese Writer Characters. A minimum of 18 people will be needed before we can open such a class since we must pay our teacher and cover the rental cost for the classroom.
Pleasanton Community Chinese School intends offer culture classes where the children will have the opportunity to learn Chinese culture, like Chinese Arts & Crafts. These classes will be formed once there is sufficient interest amongst the enrollment students.
